We’re excited to announce two new governance proposals up for discussion and voting! These proposals focus on enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the DAO’s governance processes. Below is a summary of each proposal and the key benefits they bring to the community.
[LIP #7.1] 2024-Q4-A05 Introducing “Emergency Proposal” to Expedite Urgent Voting Processes
This proposal introduces a new governance mechanism to address urgent and high-priority issues requiring immediate action. By implementing an “Emergency Proposal” type, the DAO can respond swiftly while maintaining transparency and member engagement.
Key Highlights of the Proposal:
Purpose: Enable rapid decision-making for critical matters such as security threats, operational risks, or regulatory compliance.
Approval Process:
Proposal Committee reviews and classifies the proposal within 24 hours.
Community discussion period of 48 hours.
A notice period of 72 hours before voting begins.
Voting lasts 72 hours, requiring a 33% quorum and a simple majority to pass.
Criteria for Emergency Proposals (Any one of the criteria is enough):
Severity of Impact: Addresses significant risks to security or stability.
Time-Sensitivity: Resolves issues with potential negative outcomes from delays.
Strategic Importance: Deals with governance, compliance, or infrastructure.
Benefits:
Enables timely responses to critical challenges.
Ensures community involvement in urgent decision-making.
Protects the DAO’s assets and operational continuity.

This proposal seeks to enhance the governance framework by empowering the Proposal Committee to independently draft and submit governance proposals. This change ensures proactive and efficient governance while maintaining decentralized authority with the community.
Key Highlights of the Proposal:
Purpose: Grant the Proposal Committee authority to develop governance proposals for community review, discussion, and voting.
Submission Process: Proposals will follow the standard process, ensuring transparency and community input.
No Additional Rewards: The proposal committee will not receive extra compensation for this role.
Community-Driven: The final decision-making power remains with the DAO members through voting.
